We were just getting ready to book all our reservations for North Cascades National Park after falling in love with the breath taking views but we discovered the main road is closed and I'm not sure if it will be open by August. We are so disappointed :(. We are hoping for recommendations for a place that we can stay for 4-5 days with mountain hikes with breath taking views. My sixteen year old only has two more summers at home and he wants more than anything to take a hiking trip. We can hike 10-12 miles a day (or slightly more one or two of the days). What recommendations do you have? We are late on the planning so not sure that very crowded places are going to work. It does not have to be a national park- only requirement is beautiful hikes with mountain views. We have done Yosemite and Rainier (and loved them!)

I have looked and am wondering if I'm wrong. Considering going to North Cascades in August and staying in Mazama. Looking for a couple long and iconic hikes (8-10 miles) and several other big view hikes slightly shorter. Is it right that many of the big impact hikes would be a 1.5-2 hour drive? Will we be driving far every day to reach hikes?

I'm looking for a new endochronologist in MIchigan for two reasons:

1 My current one is through Umich and I'm not sure they will accept BCBS after 7/1

2 My current one is saying my TSH at 2.7 is fine even though I am within one year of diagnosis and havne't had my one year scans post RAI and have an intermediate to high chance of return.

Hoping to find someone that specializes in oncology, many I find primarily work with diabetes.

I had a total thyroidecetemy July 2025 and 10/10 nodes were cancerous (extra nodal). Margins were clear. I had RAI and was happy with the trajectory of my Tg levels. Next scan is in June.

Recently, my TSH measured .06 on 150 mcg of levothyxine, I was having some sleep and heart side effects from such a low TSH - my doctor reduced my dose to 125 and my latest TSH read 2.7. She said it's a good level but everything I'm reading is saying you want to keep it more suppressed for longer post diagnosis. Everything is okay now but I haven't even had my one year follow up scans.

Thoughts? Do I get a second opinion?
