I’ve been hunting for an RTX 5070 lately, and I’ve noticed how incredibly difficult it is to find information in reviews regarding extended power limits (like +5%, +10%, etc.). It honestly feels like this data is intentionally hidden, even by the manufacturers themselves.

My usual workaround is checking the TechPowerUp VBIOS database, but that’s entirely dependent on someone actually uploading the BIOS, which doesn’t always happen for every SKU.

I was originally aiming for a Gigabyte card, as I'd heard they usually allow a +20% power limit—which is rare for the RTX 50-series, where most "standard" models seem to be locked at 0%. However, here in Brazil, Gigabyte 5070s are currently out of the question; they either take two months to ship or come with a 50% price markup.

I ended up pulling the trigger on a Gainward RTX 5070 Phoenix GS because the build quality looked solid, despite being completely in the dark about its power limit (some entries on TPU suggested it might be locked at 0%).

To my surprise, my unit came with a +20% power limit overhead, which I’m pretty hyped about for future overclocking.

Am I missing something obvious here, or is this information actually this hard to track down? Also, if anyone else owns this specific model, do you have the same power limit, or did I just get lucky with a specific BIOS version?
