Hi all — my mom (66) and I (26) will be in Puerto Rico in about two weeks. We’re spending a week in Vieques first, then have 2 full days / 3 nights at the end of our trip that we still need to book accommodations for.
I am looking for advice on where to stay for that last stretch. We’d like to check out Old San Juan, but we don’t necessarily need to stay there. We also don’t need to be beachfront. Condado looks convenient, but places like the Vanderbilt may be a bit out of our price range.
We won’t have a car, so walkability / easy Uber access is important. We’re mainly hoping for a comfortable, safe area with good food nearby and easy access to Old San Juan for sightseeing.
Would you recommend staying in Old San Juan, Condado, or somewhere completely diffferent or this kind of short stay, such as closer to El Yunque/Luqillo? Any hotel or neighborhood recommendations would be appreciated.
