Feeling backwards: Setting up new Kindle, prepping old Kindle.

I’ve been a Kindle fan for about a year now, and I have mostly grown and tired of running the stock firmware on the device. I’m looking for some thing that I have more control over. I was ready to jailbreak and somehow accidentally turned my airplane mode off. I’m now staring at Kindle 5.19.2. It’s an 11th generation and reaches a USB device when I plug it into my computer. I need to fill it up but I am not confident running the scripts that I found on the Kindle modding linked gihub for various reasons. Mainly, lack of trust. Like many others, I am impatiently waiting on somebody more tech literate than I to produce a way to install custom OS on this firmware version.

To fill my idle time, I’ve used an Amazon gift card that I got for my birthday recently to purchase a new 11th gen 6 inch Kindle. It’s a 2024 release, so it doesn’t seem to connect to my computer as a drive. This is my hail mary attempt to get a 5.17 Kindle. Either way I wanted a smaller one, so it’s a win.

My plan is to jailbreak the new small one first, then the older larger one when an exploit becomes available.

So, here are my questions.

1.	How can I jailbreak a stock new small Kindle? The MTP seems difficult to setup without registering the device. I think I’d need to fill the storage first and foremost but I’m unsure how to do this without biting the bullet. Here’s to hoping it’s a 5.17.x
2.	Can I use other random files in a folder to fill up my storage to leave a few tens of MBs available without it kicking them off?
3.	Is there a Koreader sync tool to use two Kindles interlinked?

Thank you.
