Alright, I’ve put in a decent amount of time on Tactical and I’m not here raging that I suck at it or anything. I just keep walking away from games thinking “man… this class is boring.”
Auspex is supposed to be the big Tactical draw, right? Scanning the battlefield, marking enemies, setting up your squad for timely buffs. In practice it feels like I’m just spamming it on jumpy assholes that teleport or leap around the second I tag them. It doesn’t feel like clever tactics, it feels like a cooldown I hit on repeat.
I want that proper Tactical officer vibe. You know — actually holding the line with real line-of-sight play. Try to picture locking down a hallway or a ruins choke point while a throng of enemies pours down it, giving proper gunfire buffs to my more melee-focused battle-brothers, boosting their sidearms when they’re close to me, highlighting environmental explosives for big damage, and actually buffing a firefight like a Tactical should. Even buffing the little Cadians so they pull their weight would be cool.
I want to push forward with a breacher shield up (yeah I know we don’t have one, that’s part of the problem), Auto Bolt Rifle slotted in dumping satisfying rounds while I advance, then underhand a frag right into the middle of the horde and actually feel like it does real, pulping damage — not just staggering my teammates and anything Majoris and above.
Instead it’s scan, shoot kinda okay, parry if you have to, and hope the team knocks the targets before the sloppy Auspex bubble buff disappears. Grenades are whatever. Everything’s just… fine. You’re not the best at range, not the best in melee, not the best at support. You’re just the guy who’s decent at a bunch of stuff and great at nothing.
**TL;DR:** Tactical feels boring with zero identity — I want breacher shield push-walks with a slotted Auto Bolt Rifle and real fireteam mentality.
