I received an offer from a brand asking me to create a social media account from scratch and post on it for one week to "prove" that I can generate views all before signing any contract or agreeing on payment terms.

Is this a common vetting process in the Tech UGC/creator space, or is this a red flag? It feels off to me because I'd be putting in a full week of work with no guarantee of compensation, no contract, and no clear next steps outlined.

Has anyone dealt with something like this? Would love to hear how others handle these kinds of requests.
