Confirmed Roo! Now what?

I posted a week or two ago trying to find out and everyone was in consensus with me on my black Bantam being a rooster. Well, he apparently thought it was time to let me know too!

The problem I have now is that a crowing rooster is not a possibility and a complaint about him means we lose the other three as well but my wife and son have gotten rather attached in the time we’ve had them.

So, in researching the options it seems there aren’t many that won’t end up with him joining the frozen chicken brigade. Then I landed on de-crowing or de-vocalization.

Does anyone have any experience with de-crowing and (fingers crossed) would happen to be in the north Texas area and could give a recommendation for a vet that would do it?

I’ve had a gut feeling about the black (non-frizzle) bantam being a rooster for a while, but I’d love to be surprised that they aren’t. 🤞 It’s also the only one that bites me on purpose.

Can anyone tell at their age and size?
