Nasty crash because of oil spillage, broken ankle, surgery required.

A reminder to wear your gear. Was going 35mph cruising and did not even notice the oil or understand cause of my crash until paramedics and police confirmed the small oil spillage later. Could’ve been a lot worse as I was sliding for 25 feet until came to a stop. Had a death wobble for a second (not enough for me to react) and came off my bike. An off duty paramedic helped me with bunch of other generous Scots until an ambulance came 40mins later. I was in the middle of Scottish country road with the worse pain imaginable. I did not care about my bike and have no idea what the damage is and im so glad I put myself first.

DXR jacket, scorpian helmet, Merlin gloves and route one armoured/kevlar jeans saved me from much worse. Had doc martens on and even if I was wearing my alpinestars boots, the doctors told me with the way I fell, no amount of gear could’ve saved my ankle.

I am an ATTGAT rider and will never be otherwise.

How do you all prevent right hand wrist pain on longer rides?

Did a 1.5 hour ride along Scotland’s east cost and now I’m dumfounded on how adv riders go on for so long?? I don’t grip the throttle too hard hard and try to adjust my hand position a lot but nothing seems to be helping? Any advice on this would be helpful as I intend to motocamp across the highlands this summer

As the title says I’m pretty stuck on the two. Noise level is not an issue for the scorpion as I know they have mixed reports and I wear earplugs. My main concern is safety with the Nolan being a flip up though it would be so convenient. Has anyone experienced a crash in either or would like to make suggestions on which would be more convenient for long rides?
