Hi, I was hoping to get some clarification/suggestions on getting backcountry permits. Looks like I have definitely missed the window for have a pre-reserved route with the backcountry campgrounds so I will have to rely on walk-ins for when I get there.
For a walk-in, do I just get to a visitor center right when it opens to get a permit for that day, or the next day? Then, can I book each of the remaining sites on my route at that time? If available of course.
I plan on having several different routes planned to hopefully get something. I would appreciate any advice for walk-ins and suggestions on which routes you recommend. Thanks.
