I’ve been researching a lot about tiles and bathroom fittings lately while planning a home upgrade, and I realized how confusing it can get.
There are so many options like:
- Ceramic vs porcelain tiles
- Matte vs glossy finishes
- Different types of shower systems and basins
From what I’ve seen so far:
👉 Porcelain tiles seem more durable and better for floors
👉 Matte tiles are safer for bathrooms (less slippery)
👉 Glossy tiles look great on walls and make spaces feel bigger
For bathroom fittings:
- Brass shower sets seem to last longer
- Minimal modern designs look much cleaner
One thing I noticed is that choosing purely based on price usually leads to regret later.
I also checked out a few showrooms here in Oman and noticed a big difference in quality and design depending on where you go.
I recently visited a showroom (Al Arab Ceramics) and they had a pretty good variety, but still exploring options.
