Our neighbors 26F and 30M are celebrating their daughter’s bday 6F at a restaurant an hour away on a Tuesday. My husband 31M and I 29F both work full time Monday-Friday and my son 4M has a tae kwon do class every Tuesday till 6pm. The neighbors also work M-F.
Its not a big dinner - I actually think we may be the only ones invited. But we asked if they considered going to the SAME EXACT restaurant that is only 25mins away. and they said no. So we politely declined but now I feel bad as they showed up to my son’s bday but then again his bday was more reasonable as it was held on a Saturday and only 15 mins away.
Their reasoning is they feel the area is too ‘ghetto’. Its really not… but then again safety is subjective to each individual.
ETA: We have already bought her a present :)
