29[F4M] #Wisconsin #US - Exhausted with Dating Culture

Has anyone else recently come to the conclusion that the dating scene is exhausting and genuinely messed up? I'm all for exploring and having a good time, but when did it become so hard to find someone that actually wants to put in the work for something long term? It's exhausting to put in the effort just to be told they're "not looking for anything serious" or they "just want to hook up", or, my favorite, "I'm keeping my options open", which seems to be code for I'm talking to a multitude of other women...

So I've decided that, for the time being, I'm done. Done with the apps and the blind dates and hoping that someone will just magically appear in my life. Instead I want to try something else, maybe you could call it an experiment. I've always been intrigued by the idea of connecting with someone through messages without seeing or hearing them. Just one person connecting with another, nothing to lose but maybe something to gain? Hard thing to do these days with all of the potential creeps out there but one can still hope yeah?

Genuinely, I don't think I really have any expectations for this, so the bar is pretty low at the moment. Really just seeing where things go I guess. I always try to message back but I'm probably going to miss some so don't be offended, I only intentionally ignore the creepy messages. (Pro Tip: If you are second guessing if your message was creepy or not then yeah it probably was)
