Looking for a tech partner
Confused on Indian pay scales
I recently returned to India and wanted to start a tech company and was super confused. I needed a lead tech developer as I have zero dev background. Since my product is quite tech heavy I wanted to bring someone who is a fresher and has the required skill who could become a partner in the future. I created a small test using Claude for the candidates to fill out. Out of 10 candidates only 1 got a 100 and the rest all fell in 92-98. And it was a simple test even if u used Claude. The 100 kid was an IIT fresher and wanted 20LPA and my issue is I can’t even pay more than 50-60k at the current stage as I’m pulling out of my own savings. How can tech grow in India cause banks don’t give loans and talented developers expect so much. I’m considering providing equity in my company such that he may join as a partner. The issue I faced with most developers is that they have no people skill and fail at managerial roles. Even if I hire the IIT guy, he has no capability to manage a team. What do I do. If I give him equity and promise him a high role the issue is I have guarantee he can function as a CTO eventually.
The thing is the software is for countries outside India and I know once the product is up and running I’ll be able to pay my developer 1L a month with 100 customers and by 2027 can pay the developer 20LPA. But I need someone who will stay and work with me. I will hire atleast 2-3 other staff cause we will need them.
