I don't understand my mistake:

I play Trickroom with bellibolt and mega-ampharos in Pokemon champions. The idea is to soak an enemy first with belli and then kill it with an electric attack from ampharos.

Both have 45 base speed, items are leftovers and ampharosite. Both are Minus-Speed Nature.

I have one speed EV invested on mega ampharos which, for my understanding, should make it slower in Trickroom so that my combo works.

But in the game it did not work. My bellibolt moved second so the soak was too late. Where is my mistake?

And: might it be smarter to change ampharos to a minus-attack nature? This would free 1 EV for somewhere else.

Edit: Solved. There was a speeddrop in Round 1 on M-Ampharos which i forgot about when the situation came. Thank you all for your ideas.
