Hi everyone,

I'm 28 years old, making $92k, and contributing 10% of my income to my Retirement in a Roth.

I currently have $41k in retirement, and all of it is invested in BRGKX (iShares Russell 1000 Large-Cap Index Fund).

Below are my options for Growth and Aggressive Growth indexes. Frankly, I dont know what I'm looking at. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on if I should just stick to where I am, or if I should change my allocations. Any and all advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Growth

  • VVIAX – Vanguard Value Index Fund - Admiral Class
  • BRGKX – iShares Russell 1000 Large-Cap Index Fund - Class K
  • SSSYX – State Street Equity 500 Index Fund - Class K
  • VIGAX – Vanguard Growth Index Fund - Admiral Class
  • BRMKX – iShares Russell Mid-Cap Index Fund - Class K

Aggressive Growth

  • VSIAX – Vanguard Small Cap Value Index Fund - Admiral Class
  • TISBX – Nuveen Small Cap Blend Index Fund - Class R6
  • VSMAX – Vanguard Small Cap Index Fund - Admiral Class
  • VSGAX – Vanguard Small Cap Growth Index Fund - Admiral Class
  • BTMKX – iShares MSCI EAFE International Index Fund - Class K
  • BDOKX – iShares MSCI Total International Index Fund - Class K
  • VEMAX – Vanguard Emerging Markets Stock Index Fund - Admiral Class
  • VGSLX – Vanguard Real Estate Index Fund - Admiral Class

Hi everyone!

I am going to be purchasing my girlfriend's engagement ring soon. She found a ring she loves at Shane Co. I am 100% purchasing the setting from Shane Co, but wanted your advice on whether or not I should purchase the stone from them as well. Here are the specs of the Shane Co stone:

Lab Grown
Carat: 2.14 ct
Clarity: VS1
Color: G
Cut: Ideal
Certification: IGI
Price: $2645

The price seems high for what I'm purchasing, however Shane Co does offer free center stone replacements if it gets lost, free maintenance, cleanings, resizing, etc. The lifetime warranty at Shane Co really does seem to be excellent.

On the other hand, a similar diamond from a seller like LooseGrownDiamonds would run me only $500-$600 or less.

What are your thoughts? Is Shane Co's warranty really worth the markup? Or am I better off going with Loose Grown Diamonds, going to a jeweler to have the ring set, then getting some kind of third party insurance on the ring? Thanks so much!
