Ordering proof - KDP

Hi everyone!

I was recently offered a contract by a reputable literary agency but I’m also considering self publishing for a multitude of reasons.

If I want to order a proof of my book via KDP, does that mean I must publish through Amazon? Does it prevent me from going through another publisher down the road? Everything I’ve been reading says NO, as long as I don’t click Publish. But I’d like to confirm here with others before I do anything.

I’m curious to see how the book looks when I do it myself first. Quite frankly, I only feel a publishing house would save me time in the marketing side.

Thank you!

Signing agent questions

Hi all

I was recently offered a contract for my debut novel by a reputable literary agency.

I am curious if there are specific questions I should ask that I may not be thinking about before signing.

Would really love your suggestions.
Thank you!

Hi all!

New author here.

Received a contract from a potential literary agency. Was wondering if others would be willing to share industry norms or their own experiences.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing here, please DM me.

Thank you
