I’m in a Mathematical Sciences Honours program in Australia and received 39/50 = 78% for my honours thesis/seminar oral presentation.
I understand that 78% is a Distinction, but I honestly feel a bit disappointed 😭😭😭and I’m trying to calibrate my expectations. In the context of honours oral presentations, would this usually be seen as a solid mark, or more like a low/weak Distinction?
Also, does anyone know roughly how much the oral presentation usually counts toward the thesis/project mark in maths honours programs?
For anyone who has done honours or has experience marking honours presentations, what sort of mark would normally count as good or very good?
