Review of CNC Innovations Intake Manifold
Hi all (this is not going to be a positive review),
First of all, I'm not really a redditor or forum poster of any type. Hell, even the name of this account was generated by Reddit itself. I only use this account to have access to more forums and just read stuff. Just wanted to clear that up first.
This post does not concern a Nissan 350z but an A45 AMG Mercedes. But in light of their recent blacklisting, and the other concerning review written on this subreddit recently I still feel this is a helpful post for this community and other people out there in the market looking to upgrade their vehicles.
I left a 1-star review on google, and I've written back and forth with them so much last few days it's aching my fingers, so I will be copy/pasting a (long) bit here:
Purchased a manifold for the A45 AMG that has horrible fitment across the board. Specifically asked about modifications at time of purchase and they said no major mods were necessary. Have a look at the pictures and emails attached to this review.
- Throttle body requires extensive cutting and milling to make it fit to the plenum entry.
- PCV/Oil Seperator needs to be relocated.
- Worst of all: gross misalignment between turbo exhaust and manifold inlet requiring major customization.
Yes, I have an after market cooler, however, this cooler aligns the same as stock, so your stock intercooler will have the exact same issues.
Besides the above 3 issues all wiring and tubing had to be extended and relocated. They have simply reverse engineered the stock manifold connections, and completely winged the rest of the design, then advertised it as "A45 AMG Manifold".
When asking for a solution, they came up with a completely different plenum design that very likely doesn't even fit it in the engine bay because it will hit the firewall. Then they're asking me for dimensions, which would mean putting the engine back in, take measurements, take the engine out again, wait for the new part, then putting the engine back in again. All this because they are clueless about what they're doing, then asking a customer to do their R&D for them. It's honestly a joke.
I'm so far in now with all the mods to make it fit, that even going back to stock is going to be way more costly than the product itself is worth. Due to their false advertising and blatant lying on email, I proposed a refund whilst keeping the item installed, then further help them with R&D to prevent other customers from having the same issues as me.
They then reverted to wording semantics and market generalizations as their counter arguments. I've clearly demonstrated where the issues lie, yet they insist they need to inspect my specific manifold at their premises somehow, whilst it's their own design and even Stevie Wonder standing on the moon would be able to see what's wrong with it.
Would never in my life recommend this company to anyone else. They're absolutely clueless.
