Monitor recommendations ?

Currently have my PC hooked up to a Sony Bravia 8 "II" QD-OLED TV. Absolute premium TV and it's beautiful. However I think for competitive fps games I want to get back into using a desk + monitor setup for that. The TV performs great , it's smooth with near instant response times but its honestly just not that comfortable for competitive play lol.

I don't know anything about monitors anymore . But I'm currently looking at these two. Wondering which ones better, or if you have any better recommendations ?

Not looking for 4k as I have my TV for that already. But I do want a good, fast OLED monitor. 2k resolution is fine. Need good balance in performance and visuals. And I don't need curved fancy stuff.

  1. Alienware 27" AW2627DM QD-OLED 240hz

  2. Asus ROG Strix 27" XG27AQDMES QD-OLED 240hz

Ordering these. Anyone know if the "GPX" Jade skates fit Superstrike X2?

I ordered the Jade's before but I was dumb and got one for the wrong mouse lol.

On Amazon there's jade ultra for GPX shape but they only have Obsidian Ultra for GPX2.

I asked AI and searched around and people do say GPX fits Superstrike just fine however I'd like to confirm that further.

But I believe this will be the ultimate setup for me finally. Fast cloth with the least static friction because I'm struggling with that right now on my current setup.

I know glass would be even more glidy but I love cloth.

Thanks.

I know I'm not the only one.

Any one else just sits there for a bit really thinking about which game to sink your time into? lol. This is always the damn routine whenever I have some time to kill. So many options . Do I play MP? or continue one of my SP playthroughs, or do I just browse Reddit for a bit. Decisions decisions.

It's like a ritual. Finish housework, tend to kids, do some exercise, get my coffee, snacks, and then sit there for a bit waiting for some inspiration.

When I do finally lock in though it's smooth sailing.

Couldn't be happier honestly. And no this isn't just forcing myself to like it because it was an expensive purchase lol. Just generally feeling great that I found a mouse shape that works great with my small hands (17cm). And my performance has most definitely improved a lot the moment I finally dialled in my DPI/Sens settings for this mouse.

I already did a quick impression review topic before but this is more after I've been using it for a bit.

I see a lot of people seem to shit on this mouse for reasons I don't know of or have not experience but for me the only things I would change are.

A. Scroll Wheel, Logitech you have got to do better in this department. The scroll wheel feels too "office" for a gaming mouse. Its not that it feels bad or anything, it just doesn't feel snappy as you would expect for a high performance gaming mouse. Its too stiff, without much tactile feedback as well. But they do add this BHOP mode where its supposed to make the scroll wheel less sensitive so you don't accidentally activate it during intense gaming moments.

B. Stock skates. It works great if you have glass mousepad and I guess they might expect people buying this fast sensor to already be on hard mats because they want the speed but for me personally I could never control my aim properly with fast hard mats so I prefer using cloth. Stock skates however feel muddy/slow even on a speed cloth pad though. But I changed it to ESPTiger Ice V2 skates and it feels great on cloth, no complaints there. I do also have the X-Raypad Jades on hand whenever I feel like this ones wearing out.

But other than that, I cant really say I've experienced any negatives with the mouse so far. The sensor is responsive, not experienced glitches or double clicks. I set my haptics to 1-1-1 for fastest input. It takes a bit of getting used to that new click feel but eventually it starts to feel like a normal mouse with these settings. Setting the actuation to 0 though holy, its like I'm clicking air. I'll say setting it that low isn't usable at all for gaming, more gimmick that they even allow it to go that low in my opinion.

Build quality is solid, no rattling lose parts, even after accidentally slamming it down a few times. I've seen videos of people squeezing the sides of the mouse and the click activates but I can't make that happen on mine. I feel I'd have to push really hard perhaps with quite a bit of force but who would ever do that while aiming lol.

The coating feels good especially if you have sweaty hands like me. As you can see I use a fan because its that bad but the coating really helps your skin grip to it. They do also include grips you can stick on but they feel a bit "leathery" and I doubt they would do any good for sweaty hands. Might actually make it a bit more slipper I'm assuming. Also the tape apparently rips off the side logo designs if you peel them off, yikes. Better not to use them.

Battery life, I can't comment on. I don't do long gaming sessions to the point that it would die on me so I've never had the battery die and I always plug it in after sessions.

Side buttons could be a bit bigger but again that's just personal preference. They feel good and function fine.

The sensor itself feels solid. It handles fast flicks without issue. I do also like to set my lift off distance at high because it helps me with my 180 flicks and it handled all that great without problems or tweaking out lol.

Connectivity. I'm using it wirelessly as you can obviously see from the pic and I've not experienced any connection cut outs. I have it set to the full 8000hz.

The only real negative to this mouse is the price as it directly competes with the Razer Viper V4 Pro which is I will say the superior gaming mouse still. Its a straight up no BS gaming mouse from what I could tell just from testing it in the store. It's simple yet completely effective. The shape just unfortunately doesn't work for me. If it was shaped more like this, I would have gone with the V4 no doubt.

If you have any questions I can answer. Please feel free to ask.

Just installed the game yesterday and I noticed everything looked quite washed out no matter what I adjusted. Indoors especially has this grey washed out look. Only remedy before was lowering brightness and increasing contrast.

Found out there's RenoDX for it so I installed that and seems to be good now but even then I still can't get proper balance between indoor and nighttime. Nights are extremely dark and absolutely requiring flashlight if I set my brightness to be good indoors. If I want nighttime to be more playable I have to still deal with some washed out look indoor.

Anyone else having the same issue?
