I know this will be different for everyone but I’m wondering if there’s a general consensus on about how long you start noticing a change in symptoms. My physiotherapist is having me do 2 types of vestibular exercises for post concussion vestibular dysfunction. 30 seconds to 1 minute of moving my eyes back and forth and then another moving my head keeping my eyes still. She said to start at 90 bpm on a metronome and increase it by 5 as tolerated. The thought of doing the exercises makes me feel ill and I’m really struggling into talking myself into doing them.

Hoping to hear from others about their experience with this kind of exercise and any tips!

Hi everyone,

To make a long story short I suffered 4 concussions. 2011, June 2014, then September 2014 and then 2017. I began having headaches after my first one, feelings of nausea, dizziness etc. I had medical attention for the 2011 and 2017 one but not the other two. These happened in university and I definitely had some mental health and substance use issues at the time. I didn’t follow proper treatment for these concussions and just kind of hoped the symptoms would go away on their own. The headaches/migraines lingered as well as depression never went away but other than that my other symptoms from these concussions did go away.

Fast forward to the last 2ish years. I have extreme difficulty with balance, I get 2-3 migraines a week, I have brain fog, memory issues, chronic fatigue, neck and jaw pain. Some of these were issues prior but it feels like everything has gotten much more amplified recently and it’s getting worse.

My question is, is it still possible to have symptoms of PCS from a concussion that long ago, especially if the concussion wasn’t really ever treated?
