She cancelled last minute so I ended it

I (23M) was pretty much in a situationship with this girl (21F) since February. I was thinking about making her my girlfriend this summer because I imagined we’d spend a lot of time together, especially since we talked about traveling together.

She started an internship in April, and it’s been pretty tiring for her. At the same time, I was in finals season during late April, so for almost a month we didn’t really see each other. After I finished my last exam last weekend, we finally planned an outing.

We were supposed to go for drinks downtown, and we both explicitly said we were excited for it. She’s the type of person who likes everything planned out and done her way. Then the day before the date, I brought up the plan and she suddenly said she wanted to see the MJ movie instead. I called her out for changing the plan we had already agreed on, and then she told me she was actually going out for drinks with her girlfriends that same night instead.

I just replied “ok,” and we still set a time and place to meet the next day. It takes her about 1h30 by public transport to get downtown, and she complained about the distance and asked me to come to her town instead. I had already sold my car, and honestly I was irritated that she kept changing the plans, so I firmly told her no and said we’d meet downtown. Later that night, I sent her some movie theaters that were closer to her place to compromise. She didn’t replied, so I assumed she fell asleep.

The next day, the day of our date, she texted me saying she caught a cough (it was the “don’t get mad” type text). I replied: “Yeah, I will be mad. Are you still showing up?” She said no.

At that point, I ended things. Weirdly enough, what hurt me most was how easily she accepted it. Her explanation was basically that work had been exhausting her, she didn’t have the energy to manage everything properly, and that if she wasn’t working so much she would’ve put more effort into us. She said she \*\*liked\*\* (\\\*\\\*past tense) me and apologized for wasting my time. I left her on seen after that.

The whole thing bummed me out because last week she was interested to meet up and called me pet names but a week later from my understanding she was just slowly losing interest and didn’t know how to say it. Her response made me really feel like I wasted my time now…

It been a few days from this event, a girl (23, F) that I dated two years ago told me I (23, M)was the love of her life.

A little bit of context, we text occasionnaly like every 3-4 months for brief period and the conversation often get spicy.
A few days ago, she texted me a meme that I responded, and the conversation went pretty long and spicy where some pics were shared… she also shared she was on her period.
Then I kinda ended the conversation to watch my team playoff’s game. She had an attitude and I left her on Seen. She then dropped the bomb that I was the love of her life, that she fantasise about me, wishes we got married, and yadadada.

I don’t know how to feel about this, i do have that in mind but I ended up telling her that I moved on (i didnt say i didnt love her back).

Two days after this, she apologizes for all of this and blamed that it was the fault of the hormones
