Getting gmails for someone else, what should I do?

I occasionally get gmails coming through from the same guy in Maine, US (I'm in UK). There's nothing super important like banking or anything, just random things: Some kind of bulk club/union mailing list, a reward card notification.

I don't think it affects me, I get every gmail I'm expecting to, and as far as I know none of my emails are being mixed up, plus I generally use hotmail anyway.

I know their can't be 2 of the same gmail and emails aren't case sensitive so it can't be that there's a technical mix-up, right? Is it just a case that their email must be so similar that they frequently give it out wrong or companies send it back out wrong?

If it does progress to important/personal information, is there a way to go about solving this? All the emails so far have just been company mailing lists that wouldn't go anywhere if you tried to reply.
