I recently got really lucky and found a 6x7 MLU with a 105 Takumar, metered prism, and wooden grip for £350 on Gumtree. The seller said it wasn't working but it actually works perfectly (it hadn't been film tested and the seller was unaware of the film winder trick to test the shutter).

I'm getting used to the 105, a little long for my usual tastes but obviously an incredible lens. Looking for a 55 to go with it. Heres some pictures from the first few rolls. B&W is Kentmere 200 and the colour is Portra 160 and Lucky C200.

Found an ad on gumtree under a search for "Pentax". A Pentax 6x7 MLU with a metered prism and SMC Takumar 105mm for £350. The description mentioned the shutter and meter weren't working. I figured if I couldn't get it repaired I could at least make my money back selling the Takumar, grip and body for parts.

As I sat with the seller I tried the hack of opening the back and turning the film counter above zero. Voilà! The shutter cocked and the meter kicked in. All speeds seem accurate but will test a roll for any capping at higher speeds. To the sellers credit he honoured the price we had agreed on. £350 for a Pentax 6x7 MLU, metered prism, and SMC Takumar 105mm f/2.4!

Spring molt was ineffective.
