My 22M boyfriend wants a paternity test from me 22F. But Is it bad I don’t believe I should get one?
I’ve been dating my boyfriend 22M for a while now and we just graduated together. We have recently began talking more in depth about our future together when today I brought up kids. He told me he wanted me 22F, that he would want a paternity test when I have a kid. I immediately got upset asking if he doesn’t trust me, when he said that he trusted me but wanted confirmation.
Unfortunately he has bad ”mentors” where their significant other has cheated or slept with other men which required a paternity test. (For reference he works as a male entertainer/stripper and also has had male coworkers who cheat on their SO) But I don’t understand why he needs one. He told me it was like a prenup, you get it for a safety measure, hoping it’s not needed.
Im scared this is him showing his true self and he won’t change in the future. While we have been together for a while, I don’t want to break up but if he can’t change his mind about this Im worried about our future together.
Had anyone else had anything similar happen to them? Is this something I should really consider if this is going to be a point of contention in the future?
