I won a Ranked game in doubles because my Milotic got hit by a Thunder Punch
I’m fairly new to competitive Pokémon, so I’m learning new things by the day. Today I learned something really funny, that a bad thing can become a good thing lol.
There were only 2 Pokémon alive per side:
My side:
-Milotic (Barely alive and Paralized because of the Thunder Punch)
-Tyranitar (Full Health)
Opponent’s side:
-Slowking (33% health + Just used Trick Room, sealing my fate, or at least that’s what I thought lol)
-Mega Crabominable (Half Health, who just paralyzed my Milotic)
I thought that because of trick room, I’ll have a horrific time trying to win this game, specially because I put Recover in my Milotic instead of Protect. (This happens to be the game were Protect would’ve helped me stall the trick room)
So, I just hoped for the best and tried going all out instead of using protect on my TTar, it happens that even my Speed invested Milotic was slow enough, (because she was paralyzed) that she managed to attack first lmao and took down the Crabominable!
Incredibly, my TTar survived Slowking’s attack in the same turn (maybe not incredible for those who know the math), and it finished off the Slowking.
So, that’s how the paralysis effect that I thought was gonna narrow my win condition to a miracle, became the reason I won 🙌
