Can I adopt a Dad?

This is a weird post. I’m 39. My dad unalived when I was 16. I’ve grown up despite my sister also unaliving. My mom remarried a man who I didn’t like. We have an icy truce now and speak occasionally, but he refers to me as “bro”. We don’t get along. So. Here I am. How does a fella teach himself how to fish? How to hunt? I became a mechanic, so I got a lot of the other man parts accomplished. It’s kind of hard never having any advice. Always learning the hard way. I taught myself to tie my shoes. I taught myself to shave. I taught myself to rebuild an engine.

How does a fellow meet an old fart without being adult-molested, or a super weird situation ensuing? I need a mentor.
