I had an interesting career trajectory. I started out in teaching (elementary) and burned out after 5 years, along with being severely debilitated by my IBS. I switched careers to admin work and while it's much better than teaching in other ways, especially intellectually, there is no challenge. My job is not interested in giving me a promotion and getting a new job sounds immensely overwhelming. Some days I feel immensely bored I want to cry and obviously can't do that. I try to listen to podcasts but it doesn't seem like enough. What do I do????

My current title at my job is Senior Administrative assistant and board liaison. I've been pushing for years to get a title change to EA with no dice.

My work is great and I get constant compliments from the board and my executive. It's a hybrid position with 3 days in office. My work is a lot of day to day admin (calendar, expenses, travel) but also a lot of board work. I've been there for 3 years and have about 8 years of experience.
