In need of yarn and yarn store recommendations + help me understand yarn sizes

I'm looking for some recommendations for yarn and yarn stores (after the drama with Hobbii I want to move away from them) and if someone can help me understand along the way, that'd be great!
So, a pattern I want to make soon calls for a 'size 4 worsted weight' yarn and uses a 6mm hook
When I look for yarn with 'worsted' weight, I'm finding a ton of yarns where the recommended hook size is 4. 4!!!! But when looking at the pattern and the video that comes with it, the 6mm suits the yarn quite nicely.
Now, I know my tension is on the looser side, so I always go down half a hook size and that works out really well for me. Sometimes I'm baffled, however, and a yarn that's as used to be, say, 3,5mm, I need to double thread to suit/match/fit the hook nicely.
But anyway, can someone help me figure out what yarn I should maybe get for this pattern? Again, it calls for 'size 4 worsted weight' yarn.
If it helps, I am from the Netherlands and am looking to buy semi close to home, so to say? Shipping from the UK and/or the USA gets expensive really quickly and can take ages before it gets here, but I don't mind if the yarn comes from say Denmark or Finland. I just want to know where I could buy my yarn and have it match the instructions 😂 I am aware local is always best, but I sadly don't have any super local stores, aside from Zeeman, which sells yarn but doesn't always have what I need. Plus, it brings me back to "what size is 'size 4 worsted weight'?"
