Journal hasn't responded in half a year. What's the next move?
It's officially been 6 months since I submitted my manuscript to a rather decent journal via Editorial Manager. However, it hasn't progressed to peer review during this time.
I've attempted to contact my assigned editor (coincidentally also the Editor in Chief) several times, both through EM and through their institutional email, with no success. Just dead silence.
I want to withdraw my paper, but I don't know who I should inform in this situation or how I'll know that I'm safe to submit my paper elsewhere.
Any advice?
