Hi sorry if this is a dumb question to ask but i am new to surf fishing (fishing in sydney ish region) and ive been a few times with a 10' heavy action rod 6-10kg line rating ie 15-25 lb braid.

My struggle is that when i fish my line lays on the beach and gets affected by the waves,

i was wondering if this is an issue with my rig being too heavy,

if i need some kind of float on my rig,

if its a problem with braid compared to mono or if its just a skill/technique thing.

I know a using straight braid is bad but i only have extremely light mono and i do plan on running a mono leader but i just wanted to know if my line laying on the beach is a me issue or if its just cause braid doesnt float or something else.
