Curious to see how many of you guys are using 3d printed or designed bits to add flavour to your heretics? My whole hobby life I've stuck with genuine bits but since 3d printing has exploded over the last few years (and learning to print myself) it's a whole new playing field.

Initially I kept it GW so I could still use my minis in store tournaments and painting comps since anything printed was completely banned. (I've heard since that apparently there's a ratio they allow printed now anyway?)

However seeing as though the store has gone downhill quite a few years ago, I don't play in tournaments anyway , and my painting skills are nowhere near good enough to be featured in anything, why not just send it ?

Printed up some crisp Cursed Company bits for a mates legion of the damned army and its giving me ideas.

Share your most proud minis with added bits!

Hey all,

I converted up a squad of Fallen Dark Angels a few years ago , having painted up 2 . The concept was fallen angels given themselves up wholly to chaos. Completely corrupted , and on the table they would play as a chaos marine force.

I used the forgeworld shoulder pad and head upgrade kit, alongside replacing the back pack with the (now oop) 40k veteran back packs.

However , it just doesn't hit the mark with me for some reason, and I also don't get to use a lot of cool chaos flavour like the heads etc.

Thing is though I don't want them to just look like black legion with red dark angel decals.

Any ideas on what about it isn't quite working, and what can be done going forward to flow more naturally/ look more badass ?

I kitbashed a squad of terminators I'm very proud of, but these legionaires just ain't hitting the mark for me.

I was considering maybe using Heresy bodies as just throwing on chaos shoulder pads / weapons / backs ? But no idea how that will look.

Definitely need to add more checker plates etc .

I could just green stuff hoods on people but again can't have a whole army of hooded dudes and it covers a lot of chaos flavour.

Pretty stumped 🤔

Cheers !

Hey all , I'm getting ready to build my first squad of Chosen but I haven't played since 7th. I'm not about to magnetise infantry sized models , so curious what you are using the chosen for mostly?

Close combat specialists or ranged ?

Cheers
