Upgraded the Volume and tone pots on my JS22. So I decided to share a little about it, might help someone else interested in upgrading their Jackson guitar in future. Have the guitar for about 6 months and it gets plenty of play. The volume pot started feeling a little scratchy, even after cleaning. So I decided to upgrade them.

I used
Volume pot - Göldo EL500
Tone Pot- Göldo EL500L (Linear)
And two Göldo Dome Speed Knobs.

Got the parts from Thomann as I'm in Europe

Worked out great and cost around €37 so a relatively cheap upgrade.

You can see just how much smaller the original pots are from the above pics.

Had to use my Dremel tool to get the new pots to fit. The body had been routed to accommodate larger pots from the factory but the alignment wasn't great so they didn't fit well. Removed a couple mm of wood to get both to fit. No big deal but might be worth knowing before you decide to do it.

The new Knobs(left) are slightly larger than the original ones. There's no way around it, if you swap the pots you'll need to get new knobs. I really do like the small dot on the new ones.

The Nut is the next upgrade. Picked up a Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL PT-6643-00. Going to wait until my next string change before I have a go. Don't have nut files so if it doesn't fit well, I'll have to stick with the old cheap plastic stock nut until I can pick up the right tools.

Soldering was easy enough for me but I have plenty of experience tinkering with electronics and soldering stuff. If your not as confident with your soldering , my only advice is to make sure you have a modern, decent soldering iron. It doesn't have to be expensive just modern.
I use a KSGER T12. The PINECIL Smart mini iron is also decent and portable. You could also practice on some junk PCB you have at home a bit and you should be fine.

Anyway, hope that helps someone with their upgrades. Happy strumming.
