Hi everyone— would be grateful for your input here. I’m American and my husband is from Ireland. We live in the states and are expecting a baby girl. Would strongly prefer to give her an Irish name, but need one that Americans can (at least sort of) pronounce.

Question 1– How do you pronounce Aisling? Husband says Ash-leen, but I’ve heard it as Ash-Lynn as well. I’ve also heard it with the G pronounced.

Question 2– Is this name considered outdated or any other bad connotations that you know of?

Question 3– Have you ever known anyone to spell it Aislinn as an alternative? I absolutely do not want to butcher or “Americanize” the name, but read online that some people in Ireland do spell it that way?
