A million different shades of blonde yet none of them ARE WHAT I WANTED
I originally asked for a bright cool/ashy blonde with a shadow root. I was very clear that I did not want warmth, gold, orange, muddiness. I told her my hair tends to lift warm (she already knows this but just wanted to make it extra clear that’s what I’m trying to avoid)
I’ve now had 3 appointments trying to get there-which is insane on its own lol - somehow my hair ended up with a bunch of different warm tones and after the last appointment (17 days ago)I got in the car and realized parts of it were actually straight up GREEN in normal lighting.
My partner had an apt for a haircut at the salon the next day (with a different stylist lol) so I went with him to show her “uh yeah….my hair is fuxking green?” and was told to use Milkshake Icy Blonde for 5 minutes on dry hair, twice. Which I didn’t do.. I used a clarifying shampoo to get the green out and after a few days I used olaplex purple shampoo.
At this point it feels obvious that parts of it just were not lifted enough. I don’t know what would/will happen if I actually used the Milkshake the way she told me to, but I honestly can’t imagine it would have fixed that much?
At this point, I’m over it and just want to know how to target certain ribbons and get rid of the remaining warmth/brassiness myself without making things worse.
These photos are what it looks like now, vs the day after I left the salon.
Any advice, product recommendations, or literally anything is appreciated.
