My Chaser Tourer V

Doing a quick intro post to kick off the new sub.

1999, Chaser Tourer V with the Grand package (so wood finish interior, grey alcantara interior but otherwise the same)

I got it in late 2018 and while it was my daily for a year or two post lockdown it's just a weekend toy now.

Mods are...

A80 rear and TRD front breaks, Mu pads, discs and lines.

HKS HiperMax IV coilovers

Genji Miki exhaust (fairly straight from the cat but sits lower than other brands)

ARC air filter box and intake.

I also have the ARC side mount intercooler but that was replaced with a Golby's kit last year.

TOM's brace kit, so trunk bar, front and rear braces and strut brace

Cusco rear strut brace

BBS LM wheels

and it's got a few dress up bits from Weld, Tomei etc.

I do have a Link G4X, Haltech wideband and some Serial 9 subframe bits in boxes ready to go on at some point.

After that I'll look into the fuel system, clutch and some turbo goodies funds permitting.

Would people move to a new sub?

Picture for attention.

TLDR a few weeks back in one of countless karma farming bot account threads I pointed out that the mod hasn't been active for at least 4 years. No posts, replies nothing the account looks dead. A user pointed out that it's possible to get mod rights via a mod/admin sub reddit if you make a request.

So after going through the process of setting up 2FA and DMing the existing mod if he'd like help and getting ghosted, waiting 5 days just to give them time to reply as per reddits rules and then waiting about a week for my request to be processed.... I got rejected, not because of my accounts standing the bot or mod team seems to think the current mod is active.

Maybe he is and he's just the strong silent type IDK.

But going back to that old post I put forward the idea of just making a new sub. Not that different than here but one that actually had a base level of bot protection and allowed image replies and maybe some useful FAQ's. I put forward the idea of XChassis as the name as this sub is like 50% GX100 and we've got a small number of 90 and 110 owners here too so might as well just roll with it and make one sub for the whole community.

So I'm asking would people actually use it? I don't want to set up a subreddit if it turns out only 10 or so people actually want those features and are bothered by the bot content that much.

Had these guys sitting on a shelf for ages under coated but not actually painted but with 11th on the horizon if I wanted to justify buying any of it I'd first need to actually finish what I've already got... or at least try.

Chapters are Scythes of the Emperor, Dragon Lords, Black Guard, Accipiters and Inceptors

I actually made the shoulder pads around the time Astarties II trailer dropped so that might give some idea how long they've been collecting dust.

English repair manual

As far as I know there doesn’t exist a repair manual for the JZX100 in English… so I translated one! Anyone want it? In addition to being in English it’s also completely searchable. It’s not perfect but I think it will definitely make finding info for repairs a lot easier.

There’s also electrical diagrams in there. Unfortunately, much of the Japanese text on the wiring diagrams was too small/grainy for Google Translate to catch. However, the section headers are English now so it makes the diagrams easier to navigate. You can still successfully use Google Translate with your phone camera looking at the PDF on your computer to translate the parts it missed the first time.
