This may be a dumb question, but I can’t find anything on the Internet that really goes over this specific question
My wife has a 2011 Subaru Forrester with about 220,000 miles we did the water pump and the timing belt about 25,000 miles ago and I’m pretty sure the head gaskets are starting to go and now the thermostat is giving us trouble. I believe that it’s not opening. I’ve replaced it twice now one with a thermostat from O’Reilly and then I got oem thermostat from Subaru. I’ve made sure that they are installed correctly and I’m still having overheating issues. I’m constantly putting coolant in the system.
My question is, can I run it without the thermostat?
I need my wife’s car to last me six months max and I’m tired of it leaving her stranded when it overheats
