My question boils down to whether I should get yet another opinion or just accept what cards I’m dealt and get this done and over with. Got this MRI and the orthopedist says no way to make this better with arthroscopic surgery, I need TKR. So I waited and have been getting injections to get through but the pain is too much and I got a second opinion. Same outcome. So they sent me to PT to prepare for that and the therapist took a look and said “this just isn’t that bad” and told me that she would get a third opinion before going through TKR. The MRI report said: Complex tear of the anterior horn, body and posterior horn of the medial meniscus with associated extrusion of the meniscal body. Full-thickness chondral lossof the lateral aspect of the lateral patellar facet with associated subchondralreactive marrow changes. More partial thicknesschondral loss throughout the lateral patellar facet and patellar apex with full-thickness fissuring of the patellar apex and associated subchondral reactive marrowchanges. Partial thicknesschondral loss of the trochleawith focal full-thicknesschondral loss of the very lateral trochlea and associated subchondralreactive marrow changes. Near full-thickness chondral loss of the weightbearing medialfemoral condyle and very medial aspect of the medial tibial plateau. Partial-thickness chondral loss of the weightbearing lateral femoral condyle. Chondral surface irregularity of the lateral tibial plateau.
