So, every time I try to start my game it just start to run it and then stops. In my pursuit of finding the issue, I found out my local file for octopath 2 is missing the .exe, and i cant get the .exe from verifying my files or re-installing the game
So far I have tried the following
- Veryifing the local files
- Re-installing the game
- Updating my grapics drivers
- Updating Windows
- Both re-installing and veryifying after deleting the local files manually
- Restaring my PC
- Clearing my steam cache
- Clearing my steam cache while the came is uninstalled then re-installing
- Doing some of these processes while having windows security disabled to see if that was what was stopping it
- Running an old directx code through the special launch options on steam ( would maybe try this again, not sure if where I got the code was reliable)
The game used to work and I have almost 90 hours on it, so it suddenly not even trying to open was really upsetting. This is also not happening to any of my other steamgames. I would run it as administrator, but the .exe is missing so I couldn't even if I wanted too
I'm stumped, my friend suggested obtaing a less than legal versoin of the .exe into my steam local files, but I bought the game legit and I don't want to do that
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know, I'm so close to finishing the game and now I cant even open it.
