Tylenol vs Advil (Ibuprofen)
Recently, as I reached for painkillers to ensure that I function during the day, my auntie stopped me from taking Advil telling me it thins blood and makes your period heavier. I’ve never heard of this before.
However, after that I quickly learned that Tylenol is barely as effective with pain management as Advil— I’ve used Advil for a very long time because they make pills small enough for me to swallow. But I’ve also suffered from very heavy flows since I first got my period anyway so I’m unsure if the correlation to my periods flow/cramps and Advil is anything to take note of.
Online it tells me Advil is very effective and is supposed to lighten my flow, while I found a Reddit post with someone saying it definitely does the opposite (with others agreeing). While Advil definitely doesn’t make my flow any lighter, it pretty much gets rid of my cramps completely. Tylenol did absolutely nothing for my cramps which made that working day very difficult for me to function and fell asleep immediately when I got home afterwards.
Is there any other pain killer that anyone recommends or anyone that has had a similar experience?
