Gear?

Hello! I am completely new to this so forgive my lack of knowledge. A couple weeks ago my son and I started riding our bikes down our road and back (1/2 mile each way) and taking my Doberman with me. So far I’ve just had him on his harness and flexi leash and riding one handed. Both my dog and I have had so much fun doing this that I am now looking into bikejoring. I’ve done a little bit of looking around online but the gear for this seems to all be super expensive. We live in a very rural small town so second hand gear specific to this is highly unlikely to be found unless online.

So what is necessary and what is not? When it comes to the harness, what makes a good harness for this purpose? I’m about 120 lbs female and my Doberman is 105 lbs, so I don’t foresee having any issues with him pulling me, but how much pulling is the dog actually doing? What other safety issues should I be aware of? My dog knows right and left commands already, “let’s go”, and “slow”, what other commands should I teach him?

In addition, where do you take your bike and your dog for this kind of thing? My short road is fine for a quick job for him but I surely wouldn’t want to run him on pavement for a long period of time.

Thanks for all your tips and helping out a potential newbie!

Is this eczema?

My son is 10 and gets these bumps on his elbows. He will get more of them and then less of them, but they never completely disappear. Usually they’re just white in appearance but sometimes they get itchy and after scratching them they develop small scabs as seen in the photos. He doesn’t seem to have them anywhere else on his body.

What are the crunchy guidelines for hair color?

I have had my natural hair color for a couple years now, and I don’t hate it but don’t love it. I used to bleach my hair for a lot of years and I still prefer myself as a blonde. So is bleaching your hair like totally off the table due to the chemicals? What about other colors?

I want to do a lot of things to make the left half of my house not look like a double wide, but right now I think paint is the only thing in my budget. I really dislike the gray/blue color my house currently is. I was originally thinking about painting the house white but open to other ideas as well. What do y’all think?

Side note: this photo was right after we finished the concrete walkway out front. The grass has since grown in and there is now a fence around the yard.
