
$25 plan 0$ set up fee went wrong
A little while ago there was this promo. My elderly father is signed up on this as he is retiree and has no income and this is an affordable plan.
This is a brand new account he was not with Fido. * and I helped him to sign up online
When Fido sent the plan details it mention there is a $80 set up fee. We called and asked for revised plan detail they said don’t worry it will be waived when the first bill came though.
Fast forward , the first bill involved 2x$25 which is expected , but the $80 is still there.
Fido says he will have to pay the $80 set up fee first and he will be credited back next month.
For some people that may be ok. Paying up front and getting a refund. But for other people that don’t have income or are not expecting to pay a $140+ bill at once it’s a struggle.
Scheduled multiple call back and was told he just have to pay up front. And there is no way to complaint about it.
This is really frustrating. How is this okay?
