What do you do for a living?

I worked for a school district and it was my favorite. I only left because of the low pay and no benefits but the job made me actually happy. Then I went back to retail. I’ve been in retail a total of 7 years. I’m a manager and idk how much longer I can do it. Between disgruntled guests to crappy coworkers to a company that doesn’t care about you.. makes it really hard to stay sane. I go home and I stare at the wall because my energy is depleted. The issue is that I make $26 and can’t find anything that pays nearly that even for roles that require degrees or licenses (I only have my high school diploma). I’m interested in receptionist jobs, remote work from home, working with kids again. I’ve been browsing but it’s tough.

So, I’m curious what do you do? Have you landed a surprisingly fitting job? I wouldn’t mind if I worked for a place that provides licensing or training for higher pay.

I’m just…. I’m about to lose my mind 😞
