PSA: Public lobbies are actually decent now
When the game first released on console and I
bought it, I tried playing public lobbies. It was an utter, toxic shitfest. If you didn’t get TK’d instantly, you’d have a couple john wicks, and a couple newbs in every lobby. All going in different directions with 0 teamwork.
Tried again recently, and was pleasantly surprised. Sure, there are still a few John wicks, and fewer team killers. But the majority people I play with in random lobbies now are cool, wanting to play properly, actually have your back and won’t just bee line away from the squad immediately or play stupidly. Hell, a lot of people I’ve encountered recently have stayed in the lobby the whole round after dying. There seems to be an unwritten rule now when no one has mic’s that the team looks at each other and spam crouches at the start of missions to signal that they want to play properly and aren’t gonna just ditch the team.
I am in Australia, so maybe it’s a regional thing, but overall there seems to be infinitely better teamplay now than a year ago. And props to the majority of people that continue playing in public lobbies for mostly fixing the rampant toxicity with no strong incentive, other than to make the game more enjoyable for everyone.
