So I’m wanting a bike that I can use on 80% road (a bit pothole laden) mainly with capability to do gravel trails. I’m pretty much a newbie into bikes. Been recommended the Revolt as a way to go by more ITK mates (heavy MTB, Road and Gravel cycling backgrounds) than myself.
Went and tried/did a quick ride of the Revolt range for size/feel the other day and know I want an XL Advanced 1 or 2. Liked the feel of the bikes.
However, would be interested in some guidance on whether to go for a 1 or 2. I know the 2 is more ‘road orientated’ than the 1 with the extra gears etc, but as a newbie then the simplistic nature of no front derailer from a maintenance/learn-to-use POV does appeal. Dropper post wise- would this also add comfort on hills etc? Tried one out on my brothers MTB on road and did quite like it. Or is it noticeable on vibration absorption etc if you don’t have the normal d-fuse?
As I say bit of a newbie so sorry for the silly questions- but keep flipping between the two options! Thanks :)
