In case you didn't know, axe pistols did actually existed
Used in the anglo-saxon region around the same place and roughly the same time Juraj Jánošík was alive, these were avant-charged flintlock pistols with a straight handle instead of a curved one, and an axe blade secured under the barrel.
The idea was the same as a bayonet: having a way to defend yourself once you shot your shot, since avant-charged pistols took around a minute to reload.
However, these were quickly left in the gutter of history because the axe made it too heavy to aim, and the funky handle made it mediocre at doing both of its jobs. It was easier having infantry guarding the artillery.
