Got a new job, advice for the "lost" ones
So guys just wanted to share my hapinness with the world, I've posted in this community about a year ago about how bad my career was back then ( below is the link to the post )
https://www.reddit.com/r/it/comments/1qj5ppp/it_support_21_yo_is_it_even_worth_trying/
So the story goes like this, after posting here I started to ask my manager about promotion to a better department thats working with the on-premise cloud infrastructure. my skills were proven a lot before I asked so it is not what stopped them from promoting me.
I've been asking them about the "promised" promotion for an entire month, every thursday of the week during February was about me asking my manager about the promotion always getting a "piss off" answers.
After that, March started and I was at my lowest point from spiritual perspective. I was smoking twice then I usually do, was drained right after waking up and very lazy.
And I thought to my self why would I suffer? is it even worth it? (thats what I talked about in the post) spoiler: and yes it was.
I've started to think about quitting the job and gave a 2 week notice right before the end of March. could not hold it untill the end and even left a couple of days before. those days were the hardest because I could smell the freedom.
After all I was unemployed for about 1.5 month just chilling at home, playing video games, and really enjoying life living on my savings. it is scary because deep inside I knew that the money will end one day but that day was far.
I started to submit application, and got an interview.
honestly it was very easy the first one which was the technical, nothing special. they asked me about AD, VLANs, and some other very easy stuff which I knew, it was on the tip of my toung.
Then got a reply to the second interview the same week, I had a nice 35-40 min conversation with the VP, CTO, & CO. mostly softskills and a bit of laughing. it really was amazing.
And finally got the third interview which was around ~ 10 minutes just "closing corners" as the interviewer said because they wanted me to work for them.
I got the contract, twice the salary I had at my previous job, 8 hours of work, and very good social bonuses, plus free food.
So the finall verdict, you can compare by youself the state I was in 4 month ago, and state I'm at right now. it is worth it 100%.
