For context, I’m in my 30s and find myself looking back a lot at my late teens to early 20s.

Seeing friends all the time without needing to plan weeks ahead, random nights out, life feeling a bit more carefree. It’s not even just personal - the UK itself feels quite different compared to c. 10 years ago, no matter on how you look at it.

I know part of it is just getting older, but it does make me wonder how much has genuinely changed versus how much is nostalgia.

Do others feel the same, or is it just a case of rose-tinted glasses?

For me it has to be electrical salt and pepper mills. Absolutely angers me beyond belief. Just feels completely unnecessary. Don’t get me wrong, for people with arthritis, grip issues or disabilities, I completely understand it and it’s a great thing for them. However, for the average Joe, what’s more satisfying than cracking salt and pepper yourself manually? I keep seeing them more and more in cooking videos, whether that’s on YouTube, Reels or TV and, yes, it boils my piss.

First time flying with British Airways so we’re complete novices.

We’ve got the option to upgrade our daytime flight from LHR to EWR to World Traveller Plus for £286 each. For a daytime flight, is that actually worth it? Or would we be better off just paying £119 each for the extra legroom seats in World Traveller? (See attached photos)

The only thing putting me off World Traveller Plus is that it’s not available at all on the return flight, which is overnight. Feels a bit backwards having the bigger/more comfortable seat on the daytime flight, then going back to standard economy for the night flight when comfort would probably matter more.

What would you do?
