In DS1 Director's Cut there are new story missions that introduce Coffin - a character that further links Fragile and Higgs.

When I saw trailers for DS2 and saw all the coffin imagery it was clear that they'll come back to this story and expand on it, but... they didn't. Or maybe I missed something?

Why new q-pid is coffin shaped? Why we see coffins as marks of connected facilities im our private rooms? Why are Higgs mechs coffin shaped?

Did Kojima's original plan for DS2 had Coffin in it but he removed all trace of her during the rewrite?

It's just so bizarre...
