Expat moved to Westchester with our family , hi!
We are signing a lease. The landlord basically expects tenants to pay the first $250 of any repair or replacement - even eg an old appliance that naturally reaches the end of its life.
We’d pay 250 and landlord the rest to get a new one. It seems weird to me that the landlord wouldn’t cover appliances fully when they break due to age . There’s another clause that puts it on us if we damage it - fair.
People in my office said it was unheard of but they live in nyc. My broker says it’s standard in westchester?
