I have been happily charging my car using my Ohme home pro to schedule the car charging. I recently upgraded to a SMETS 2 meter and am trying and failing to add the ohme home pro and EV as a device in the Octopus app to utilise IOG tariff.
I can select my VW car in the octopus app and then login to the car app. I can also select the ohme home pro and then the next screen is a highly unimformative generic couldn't add device message. It doesn't say which device or why, which makes solving the issue tricky. I tried emailing support but they weren't any help.
I have the IOG tarrif selected in the Ohme app and the ohme communicates fine with the car but it only schedules for times between 1130 and 530.
Any suggestion on how to resolve this?
Also can anyone explain why it needs to know my car details. I expect the Octopus app to chat to the charger for scheduling and then the charger charge the car, rather than Octopus app to car for scheduling.
